We are currently in the process of looking at potential properties to buy or lease, as well as locking down funding. We don’t have a firm timeline yet, but we are working hard towards opening sooner rather than later. In the meantime, we have this online shop open, and we are appearing at local pop-up events as we work towards our physical grand opening. As we have more updates, we’ll update everyone via social media and our online newsletter!
We are not a chain. We are a locally owned independent bookstore.
No, we will not be selling local art. We will be selling local authors’ books. We would also like to have a small section for locally-made products (handmade jewelry, bookmarks, t-shirts, totes, etc.)
The short answer is yes. We plan on having local authors in our inventory. The how is simple for now. If you are an author, email us, and let us know you want us to sell your books. We are not accepting anything right now, but we are getting the legal stuff set up so we can do that in the future. We will have more information for you through email.
That depends on what is popular and how much room our physical location allows. If we get into a smaller building, we will have a smaller inventory. If it’s a larger building, we will have a larger inventory. As of right now, we have many different genres from Romance to Nonfiction and many in between. We plan to stock a wide selection of genres to fit the community’s needs.
Part of it is because we live in Farmington. But we also want to be a part of the process of revitalizing downtown Farmington.
We are planning on having 99% of our book inventory be new books. We have considered selling very select used books. Likely we would only accept titles of books we are already selling new in the store. To be honest, Amy’s Bookcase already does a great job at selling and trading used books so we don’t feel any need to step into that market.
Honestly, we love this idea. We can most likely make a Pay it Forward section work. That and other creative ideas may be introduced eventually once we’re more fully established.
Yes, we will have children’s books, and depending on the size of the building we get into, we will also have a children’s area.
We do not plan on selling books or book-like materials outside of traditional fiction and nonfiction books. We do plan on selling graphic novels, though.
We will not be a Christian bookstore, so our selection of Christian books will not outweigh any other genre we sell. We will sell some Christian novels and inspirational books, but it will not be the entire store. We plan on selling a little bit of everything for everyone.
We do plan to have a coffee punch card or similar system, but not a book one.
