Our Story
We have always been passionate about books. While our journey in reading started much differently for each of us, we’ve both discovered the tremendous joy that comes from getting lost in a good book.
Amanda started reading in 2019. Before that, she hated reading because she felt that she read too slowly, she struggled to understand what she was reading, and she misread words. Eventually, she learned she was dyslexic. Understanding this about herself helped her find new ways to get back into reading that worked for her.
Kreig has been a reader for as long as he can remember. Since the age of 3, he has been in love with books: reading them, writing them, and any other way he could engage with them. When he was younger, he would read a whole book series in a week.
Reading books, regardless of the genre, is such a powerful and enjoyable activity. It whisks you to new worlds or challenges you to consider new ways of thinking.
Why Start a Bookstore?
Books have the power to transport us to different times, places, and even dimensions. They can evoke emotions, challenge our thinking, and broaden our horizons. We believe that a good book can change lives.
With the rise of Amazon, many industries, the book-selling industry in particular, have been negatively impacted. And yet there has been a resurgence of independent bookstores in the past few years as people rediscover the joys of shopping locally and supporting small businesses. In addition, Farmington, NM, and the surrounding areas lack a place dedicated to new books and the feeling of community that can grow around them.
Our bookstore is not just a place to buy books; it’s a community hub, a sanctuary for book lovers, and a space where stories come alive. We carefully curate our collection to cater to a diverse range of interests, ensuring that there’s something for everyone.
